LSAT

Review With Experts. For many prospective law students, getting a strong score on the Law School Admission Test means getting accepted by the law school of their choice. We will help you achieve your desired score by placing the focus where it belongs—on your verbal skills. Our English and reading specialists will also help you develop your analytic skills—so important for quick, accurate responses on logical and analytical reasoning questions—while building your reading speed and comprehension. We will go over each section of the exam, using lectures, demonstrations, and analysis of your timed test results to help build your knowledge of the test as well as your test-taking techniques

LSAT Workshop Topics

Reading

Because your reading skills will strongly affect your performance on the LSAT, you will learn reading strategies that will help you maximize your performance on this important section. You will learn to determine the main idea of a passage, to analyze its structure and describe its tone. You will also learn to identify ideas the author implies or suggests in order to make accurate inferences. In addition, you will gain familiarity with question types and learn appropriate strategies for answering each question type correctly. Finally, you will learn methods of enhancing concentration while reading.

Logical Reasoning

  • For strong performance on the logical ability section, you will learn:
  • How to identify common question types.
  • How to develop answering strategies appropriate to each question type.
  • How to spot difficult and time-consuming questions to skip or postpone
  • How to maximize your total score by identifying and correcting your patterns of error.

Analytical Ability

Logic specialists in analytic skills will teach you how to spot and correct flaws in logical reasoning and to translate verbal information into visual format to more easily identify correct answers. You will learn how to identify major categories of analytic problems and will also learn effective diagramming techniques for each. Particular attention will be given to understanding the fundamental logical difference between “must be” and “could be” questions and mastering the most efficient strategies for each, as well as handling conditional premises and other logical structures common to this section.

Writing Sample

You CAN write under pressure! While the essays are not a part of your LSAT score, copies are sent to all of the law schools to which you apply. In this workshop experienced writing teachers will show you how to generate ideas quickly and organize these ideas into high-scoring essays. You will learn techniques that make it easy to develop a clear, strong, persuasive argument and assessment of argument. You will practice writing and proofing under timed conditions.
